Research Points to Social Support by Peers Beneficial to Self-Efficacy in Overweight Adolescents

In adolescents who are overweight, the perception of increased friendship and social support results in increased effectiveness as measured at Camp Endeavor this past summer. Camp Endeavor, a nonprofit weight management camp for youth in Wisconsin Dells, WI was the site of research looking at the relationship between efficacy (effectiveness) and social support amongst adolescents.
